Avery joined Shasta Ventures in 2011 with 17 years of experience in finance and accounting. In 2019, she was promoted to CFO. Alongside Austin Grose, Avery has helped manage Shasta investments totaling $1.4 Billion. She started her career at Arthur Andersen and went on to work at several venture capital firms including Versant Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Francisco Partners, and Prospect Ventures.

Avery is a member of the Board of the VCBC (a non-profit association of finance professionals in venture capital firms).

She is a CPA (inactive) and holds a B.A. in Economics, with an emphasis in Accounting, from UC Santa Barbara.
